Rebecca is Executive Assistant and Office Manager at Omera Partners in Melbourne. She is the person who keeps the Melbourne office running, the search process moving, and the people around her calm.

What is your role at Omera Partners and what brought you to executive search?

“I am Executive Assistant and Office Manager at Omera Partners in Melbourne. I came to Omera with an executive search background, having spent eight years working across recruitment and executive search. Before that, my career was in retail operations and planning. What drew me to executive search was the pace, the variety, and the people side of the work. I like having a lot on and being busy."

Who do you support and what does it take to keep a search practice running well?

“I support Jonathan Harper, Jayde Stokes,Angela Clelland, and Richard Sowter across the full search life cycle, as well as managing the Melbourne office day to day. On the search side, that means managing the full suite of search documentation and reporting, coordinating candidate and client care at every stage, and keeping each assignment moving forward with the detail and responsiveness it deserves. On the office management side, I oversee the day-to-day operations that keep Melbourne running smoothly. Keeping a search practice running well comes down to staying across every detail, maintaining clear communication with everyone involved, and being flexible enough to pivot quickly when priorities change. In executive search, they always do.”

What do candidates, clients and colleagues experience when they work with you?

“The feedback I hear most often is that I am calm, patient, and level-headed. Candidates going through an executive search appointment can find the process stressful and uncertain, and I think a steady, warm presence makes a genuine difference to how they experience it. I am also known for being analytical and detail-oriented, which matters enormously in a practice where the quality of every document, every briefing pack, and every piece of candidate communication reflects on the firm. I take that seriously.Colleagues know I like to have fun and enjoy a laugh at work, which I think is just as important as everything else.”

What do you most enjoy about working at Omera Partners, and what are you most proud of in your work?

“What I enjoy most about Omera Partners is the people. They are genuine, genuinely interesting, and always willing to support each other. I also love the fast pace of the work, the detailed and consultative nature of executive search at this level, and the satisfaction of being part of a practice that takes its appointments seriously. What I am most proud of is the trust the partners place in me to represent the practice to candidates and clients. That trust is something I work to earn every day.”

“To me, greatness is found in the moments people remember: when they feel supported, looked after, and can trust that they are in good hands.”

What does life look like outside the office?

“Outside the office I love cooking and entertaining with friends and family, and spending time with my partner and our dog. I switch off by getting out in nature, heading to the beach, and doing yoga, particularly when the Melbourne weather cooperates. I also love to travel and experience different cultures, and I am always planning the next trip.”
