We caught up with Mosa to hear how he approaches a search, what keeps him energised about the work, and where he believes greatness is found.

What is your role at Omera Partners and what brought you to executive search research?

“I am a Senior Associate in the Research Team at Omera Partners, based in our Sydney office, specialising in the Information Technology, Financial Services (Asset managers, Private Wealth Managers and Superannuation/Sovereign wealth Funds),Transportation and Infrastructure Development (Engineering, Construction, and Asset Operators) and Energy and Resources sector. I have been with Omera Partners for nearly a decade, joining as an intern straight out of university after completing my MBA. What drew me to executive search research was the combination of rigorous market intelligence and the genuine impact of connecting the right leader with the right opportunity. Omera Partners’ focus on bespoke, detailed research, and its reputation for quality, aligns closely with the way I like to work.”

What does the research process involve, and how do you support the partners and practices you work with?

“My role spans the full research lifecycle of a search, from initial market mapping and candidate identification through to outreach, early conversations, and briefing partners ahead of interviews. I work closely with clients to understand their leadership requirements, then build a thorough picture of the relevant talent pool. I keep abreast of the latest industry trends, innovations and emerging technologies so that my understanding of each sector stays current and I can align candidate capability with the right opportunity. I manage every stage of the process carefully to help clients achieve successful outcomes, and I stay focused on identifying diverse leadership talent whose aspirations and potential genuinely fit the opportunity in front of them.”

What do candidates, clients and colleagues experience when they work with you?

“What people tend to notice most is a combination of strategic thinking and meticulous attention to detail. I approach every search with consistency and a genuine commitment to getting it right, which means candidates and clients can trust that what they are being told reflects the market as it really is. What do you most enjoy about working at Omera Partners, and what are you most proud of in your work?

“What drives me is knowing that this work has real consequences. The right leader in the right role changes the trajectory of an organisation, and being part of finding that person is something I find genuinely compelling. I also love the intellectual side of it, there is something deeply satisfying about mapping a market that looks opaque at the start and ending up with a clear, honest picture of who is in it and why they matter. What I am most proud of is the depth of the sector knowledge and the networks I have built over nearly a decade at Omera Partners. That foundation is what allows me to go beyond the obvious names, to surface candidates that are hard to find, and to give clients and candidates the kind of insight that actually moves a search forward.”

What does life look like outside the office?

“Outside the office I spend quality time with my family. I enjoy watching documentaries and reading, with a particular interest in history, and I am a keen gamer with a soft spot for games that offer strong narratives and expansive open worlds.”
