Melanie Pritchard is an Executive Assistant in our Melbourne office, providing high level executive search support across a busy partner practice. She is valued across the team for her precision, her steadiness, and the genuine care she brings to every candidate and colleague she works with. We asked Melanie about her path back into executive search, what it takes to keep a busy practice running, and why, for her, greatness lives in the details.

What is your role at Omera Partners and what brought you to executive search?

“I am an Executive Assistant at Omera Partners. I had taken a short break from executive search and quickly realised how much I missed it, so I jumped at the chance to return to an environment where I could make a real impact.”

Who do yousupport and what does it take to keep a search practice running well?

“I support Vanessa Stack, Partner, CFO and Financial Services, Damian Tynan, Partner, Marketing, Digital and Corporate Affairs, and Carlos De Oglou, Partner, Retail and Consumer, covering candidate and client communications, interview scheduling, document preparation, and keeping each search on track. With multiple searches running in parallel, what keeps a practice running well is prioritisation and a genuine eye for detail.”

What docandidates, clients and colleagues experience when they work with you?

“I have been described as warm, reliable and calm under pressure. It is my hope that candidates feel informed and at ease, colleagues trust me to work autonomously and thoroughly, and clients feel kept in the loop throughout.”

What do youmost enjoy about working at Omera Partners, and what are you most proud of inyour work?

“For me it is the people, my colleagues, and the candidates and clients I speak with. Executive search often marks an exciting moment in someone’s career, and being part of that, even from behind the scenes, is something I really enjoy. What I am most proud of is the chance to help change people’s lives. I will also admit to being a bit of a formatting nerd, there is real satisfaction in a document done properly.”

“Greatness to me is found in the details. It is the proactive support, the calm execution, and turning chaos into order so the people I work with can focus on what they do best."

What doeslife look like outside the office?

“I’ve always had a travel bug. I’ve spent years living in various countries before settling in Australia. These days I love exploring local areas and enjoying good food and wine with friends and my young family.”
