Brian has been a Partner at Omera Partners since 2007, conducting searches for Technology and Human Resource Executives. He is also a specialist Search Consultant to the Not-For-Profit sector.
A lifelong HR professional, Brian has cultivated a strong knowledge base of the technology sector, and having serviced it for close to 30 years, has maintained currency in an industry experiencing ongoing rapid change.
Brian has a strong empathy for clients and specialises in helping the Not-For- Profit sector deal with the change inherent in moving to a client-centric model with commercial overtones. His natural curiosity and enjoyment of getting to know people, their values, drivers and what underpins their success, are some of the characteristics he calls upon to do his job well.
Brian identifies a great candidate on the basis of understanding their career trajectory, their drivers, the accomplishments they've achieved in their career and interviewing them comprehensively to gain insight to their energy level and style.
Believing the Not-For-Profit domain to be the source of personal feelgood, Brian also appreciates clients who have clarity of their brief, are realistic about their need and passionate about their business.
Brian grew up with six siblings and still lives and works in Melbourne. He occasionally hosts trivia nights for Not-For-Profit organisations - this leverages his love of film and literature. He also enjoys watching a close game of AFL football, supporting Collingwood and enjoying a wine with friends. He has a young son who had no choice but to also support the Magpies.
